The Motorola Cliq XT is on the market and it has reached the T-Mobile site. Let’s take a look at some of the better functions of this phone, on its own and in comparison to its predecessor, the original Motorola Cliq.
1) Screen – This is the biggest change to the device. Where the original Cliq had a slider QWERTY keyboard, the XT has a fairly responsive capacitive touch screen display with built-in keyboard entry. The 3.1 inch screen has a resolution of 320 x480 pixels which is a standard, but decent size.
2) Structure – There is a lot to like about the function and feel of the phone. First off, the outer texture of the shell makes it easy to grip and feels nice to the touch. It isn’t too big so you can still easily put it in your purse or carry it in your pocket. The ports are all in easy to use positions, micro USB port near the bottom, power and headphone jack near the top. There is also an awesome 2-stage camera. It does a great job of focusing before the picture is taken.
3) Functions – Near the bottom of the phone is a small trackpad with 2 buttons on either size (four total). The trackpad is just as responsive as the touch screen and the four buttons follow the design of the outer shell, having their own texture to make them easily accessible.
4) Sound – As with most Motorola devices the Cliq XT has great sound quality, conversations are crystal clear even on speaker phone. Although, the volume of the speaker phone itself could be a bit louder.
5) Battery – Lasts about 24 hours after a normal day of use. It will definitely have to be charged each night, but it is better than the original Cliq battery that lasted only half a day at times.
6) Reception – The XT has excellent signal strength with good internet speed and Wifi capabilities.
This is a great phone to get if you have been pondering getting the Cliq. It takes a lot of what made the Motorola Cliq popular and added some good enhancements.
